Linda Beckett was born and trained in Manchester. Her most recent theatre appearance was last year as Aunt Ivy in the premiere production of High Ridin' at the Kings Head Theatre London. Other theatre credits include Mrs Kay in the stage premiere of Willy Russell's Our Day Out, Betty in his play Breezeblock Park, Maureen in Victoria Wood's 'Talent'. Further roles include Mrs Hardcastle in She Stoops to Conquer and the Widow Quinn in Playboy of the Western World, which both toured internationally with the Century Theatre.
In 1974 Linda appeared in the original production of Willy Russell's John, Paul, George, Ringo and Bert (Liverpool Everyman and the Lyric Theatre, London) which won the Evening Standard and London Theatre Critics awards for the best musical in 1974.
Noted for her Elvis Presley impersonation in her one woman show Any Way You Want Me, Linda also provided much of the fun as the earnest and rather dotty medium Madame Arcarti in Blithe Spirit at the Brewhouse Theatre,Taunton.
Film credits include Mike Leigh's Bleak Moments, High Hopes and his acclaimed Secrets and Lies.
